[Helpdesk] need to borrow external firewire harddrive asap

Can you reformat it in Disk Utility? No sense using a Windoze NT  
formatted drive with a Mac.

Unfortunately, I have seen a lot of reports of problems with LaCie's  
full-size (not portable) desktop d2 drives; apparently the power  
supplies fail, sometimes incrementally, causing speed fluctuations,  
which can render the drive unusable.
