[Helpdesk] dead or dying?

Hi all-
I'm a switcher and still don't feel super comfortable with my seven-month  
old, now out-dated loaded Powerbook.  This afternoon I noticed that the  
translator didn't work but I did get on and read mail at .mac.  Also  selected music 
but was busy and didn't notice that it didn't come on.  And  then later I 
realized that the screen was black and unresponsive.  I've  switched out the 
battery and get a plain blue screen and now don't know how to  turn it off.  Have I 
simply hit a wrong button or have I killed the  thing?  Thanks, Sheridan
