[Helpdesk] External hard drive problem

Hello Suzanne,

Describe what's happening or what is showing up as far as your faulty  
drive is concerned. I wouldn't run any disk repair software such as  
Techtools or Diskwarrior until you recover the data. Prosoft's Data  
rescue has worked well for me. Once the data is recovered then you  
can run disk repair to try and save the hardware.
