[Helpdesk] Backups

Hi-
OK, fear properly induced, product sold.  And I'm a ninny...I order  this 
thing online; then it plugs into the Powerbook (purchased last summer)  somehow; 
I hit a button and it's backed up--?   And when I order a  desktop, this is 
how the laptop information gets to the new computer--?  Am  I close?
