[Helpdesk] Norton Personal Firewall probs

I have been having problems with Personal Firewall ever since I enabled it
again recently and started configuring some of the settings.

I am frequently losing Internet access, and have to restart my computer in
order to get Internet access again. (I have DSL through Qwest and M$N. I am
running Mac OS 10.3.9.) So I restart, and things work for a while, and then
my Internet access stops again. This never used to happen.

A couple of times I have had a ³veil² come down over the screen, with a
message, and have had no choice but to restart my computer.

This is happening even though I have recently DISABLED Personal Firewall.

I just tried setting the Firewall settings in Sharing in System Preferences
and I can¹t ‹ I get the message ³Other firewall software is running on your
computer. To change the Apple firewall settings, turn off the other firewall
software.²

The thing is, my Norton Personal Firewall IS DISABLED!

Questions:

- Do you think Apple firewall is adequate?

 - Do you think I should reload Norton?

- Or move Personal Firewall and any related files to the trash?

Thank you!
