My recommendation, is to buy the cheapest, external HD, buy two of them, and
back them up religiously.
Some examples.
320gig internal HD $112 (from newegg.com)
Drive case $30 (From newegg.com)
Or
500gig Maxtor external HD $342 (newegg.com)
Or
Fantom 250 gig usb 2.0 HD $99 (buy.com)
Or
Seagate 400 gig HD $299 (Buy.com)
Or
LaCie 300 gig HD $239 (Baillio's)
The bottom line, is that every HD is susceptible to crashing, some sooner,
some later. I myself handled 2 LaCie HD's last week alone, and one quantum
fireball HD (Har har) and my firm opinion, is that every HD, cheap, or
expensive, is fragile. so back up everything that you *don't* want to lose,
at any time when you don't want to lose it.
