GRAPHICS AND FINE-ARTS SPECIAL INTEREST GROUP of the

THE SF MAC USER GROUP Presents

"Visualizing Architecture, Interiors, and Other 3D Objects with
SketchUp"

by

Andy Merriell
of
Andrew Merriell & Associates

SketchUp, a 3D graphics application, is particularly compatible
with the way architects, designers, and artists think and draw. It's
intended to help designers quickly visualize projects in three
dimensions, producing sketches rather than photo-realistic images.
This session will provide an introduction to the basic capabilities
of the program.

The publishers of SketchUp have teamed with Google and issued a FREE
DOWNLOAD version called "Google SketchUp". This version, nearly
identical to the pro version, is available from www.sketchup.com.
SIG attendees may want to download the free software either before or
during the meeting (if their laptop has an AirPort card), if they'd
like to play along with the presentation.

This presentation will be made on June 3, 2006 in the Jemez Room of
the Santa Fe Community College on Richards, south of Rodeo Road. It
will start at 10:00AM and run until about Noon.

We hope to see you!

As usual, if anyone has a subject they like presented, or would like
to make a presentation, please contact the Coordinator.

Best regards,

Bob Everett

G&FA SIG Coordinator Pro Tem

 From Apple News May 4, 2006. . .

Protecting the Environment

Beginning in June, when you purchase any new Mac from the online or
retail Apple Store, we’ll take care of the computer you’re retiring.
As part of a new computer take-back program available to US
customers, we’ll send you a box, pay for the shipping, and recycle
your old equipment in an environmentally friendly way and without
shipping any hazardous material overseas.

Long committed to conserving natural resources and protecting the
health of the only planet we have, Apple was recently named a
“Forward Green Leader” by the Sierra Club and its investment advisor,
Forward Management. That distinction puts Apple on the short list: as
one of the top 10 environmentally progressive companies.

What have we done to deserve this status? Visit our website, and take
a look at our environmental record of achievement.
